Choctaw Casinos & Resorts has been designated as the official casino resort and community partner for the 2027 PGA Championship, an event anticipated to draw approximately 200,000 visitors to North Texas. The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 17 through May 23, 2027, at PGA Frisco.
The competition marks the first return of the PGA Championship to North Texas in over six decades. It also coincides with the centennial of the first PGA Championship held in Texas, which occurred at Cedar Crest Golf Course in Dallas in 1927.
Under the agreement, Choctaw will convert the Ice House located within the PGA District into a climate-controlled hospitality space known as the Choctaw Ice House. This venue will provide food, beverages, specialty cocktails, branded merchandise, and interactive activities for attendees. Ticket holders will also receive access to a dedicated viewing area situated behind the ninth green.
Heidi Grant, senior executive officer for the Choctaw Nation, stated that the championship offers a historic opportunity for Texas and expressed pride in partnering with the PGA of America to create an experience for golf fans.
Interest in the event has generated significant attention. According to the PGA of America, more than 155,000 individuals registered for ticket access, setting a new record for the championship. Tickets for all four rounds, spanning Thursday through Sunday, have sold out more than nine months prior to the start date.
