Frisco police have arrested a third individual in the 2002 homicide of Frank Weiss. Jason Honrud, 50, was taken into custody on June 24 alongside Waxahachie officers. He faces a murder warrant related to the death of Weiss, a Plano resident whose remains were found near Lake Lewisville within Frisco boundaries.

Honrud is the latest person charged in this cold case. Lisa Honrud, Jason’s wife, was detained in April. She was previously married to Weiss at the time of his death. Keith Hart, 57, was arrested in May. Investigators stated that updated forensic methods and a key witness led to the resolution of the 24-year-old case.

Court documents indicate Weiss had documented marital issues and was preparing to separate from Lisa Honrud. She signed an annulment in late May 2002 and moved out of their home with Hart’s assistance the following day. Weiss was last seen alive shortly after that move. A witness reportedly told police that Lisa Honrud admitted to providing the weapon to Hart, who allegedly discarded it in Joe Pool Lake.

Weiss’s daughter, Carla, expressed mixed emotions regarding the arrests. She noted that while she had accepted the possibility of never finding answers, the recent developments brought gratitude. She suggested her father was too large to be acted upon by one person alone. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
