Frisco Panther Creek football returned to winning form with a 40-27 road victory over Denison on Friday. The Panthers had previously lost to No. 2-ranked Anna in their district opener. Senior Shawn White led the offense, carrying the ball 32 times for 241 yards and two touchdowns.
He also caught two passes for 41 yards and another score. Panther Creek out-rushed Denison 243-222, with White scoring twice in the second quarter to help build a 26-7 lead by halftime. The team maintained a lead of up to 26 points during the second half.
In a separate non-district matchup, Lovejoy defeated Fort Worth All Saints 30-28 in a close contest. The Leopards trailed 14-0 at halftime but rallied to take the lead. The game featured five lead changes before Lovejoy secured the win with a last-second play.
Junior quarterback Nixon Slaughter threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to junior Coleman Reaugh, who caught the ball off a deflection in the back of the end zone. Slaughter also connected with Reaugh for a 48-yard touchdown earlier in the game. Junior Luke Gahan added two rushing touchdowns in the second half.
The victory improved Lovejoy's record to 4-0, their first such start since 2021.
