BODYBAR Pilates hosted a record-setting workout in Frisco on Sept. 13, bringing together 100 participants on 100 reformer machines. The event, held at the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star, marked the first time such a large-scale reformer class had been documented. The gathering served a dual purpose, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Pilates method and the franchise’s opening of its 100th studio location.
The 50-minute session was led by Kamille McCollum, who serves as the brand’s Chief Brand Officer, President, and Co-Founder, alongside a team of certified instructors. The class took place during the company’s annual conference and included franchise owners, instructors from across the country, and invited media representatives.
Reformer Pilates is a full-body exercise that utilizes a machine with a rolling carriage to provide resistance, aiming to improve strength, flexibility, and core stability.
The event also functioned as a fundraising initiative for the Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC). By collecting $100 for each reformer used, the organization raised a total of $10,000. This contribution supports the FWC’s mission during Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month, funding research, education, and public awareness efforts.
The FWC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the official foundation of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, has raised over $60 million for related causes.
According to the Pilates Journal, approximately 14 million people in the United States regularly practice Pilates, with women comprising about 70% of that demographic. The record attempt followed a recent expansion milestone for the Texas-based brand, which opened its 100th studio in Presidio, North Fort Worth, on Sept. 8. This location is in the same market where the franchise originally began.
