Wolfgang Willems, owner of Assisting Hands Home Care in Frisco, will present to a self-support group on Aug. 11 at the Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Frisco. The session will focus on managing fatigue, a common symptom that often persists after formal rehabilitation ends.
Willems noted that families frequently leave the hospital with extensive paperwork but lack guidance on the long-term realities of recovery. He stated that his presentations aim to bridge that gap by explaining what daily life looks like months after a stroke. "Someone has to help translate that into what actually happens on a Tuesday afternoon three months later," Willems said.
"That is the piece we focus on, in the presentations and in the care we provide."
Assisting Hands Home Care specializes in stroke recovery services for residents of Frisco, Plano, Allen, Little Elm, Prosper, Richardson, Carrollton, and Dallas. The agency provides non-medical home care ranging from a few hours weekly to 24-hour live-in support.
