Frisco Police Department released bodycam video capturing the detention of Karmelo Anthony after he fatally stabbed Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet in April 2025. The footage shows officers securing the then-17-year-old near the stadium area while he makes statements regarding the incident.

During the encounter, Anthony tells officers he stabbed Metcalf after being confronted and claims the victim put his hands on him first. He repeats that he committed the act, correcting an officer who refers to him as the alleged suspect. The video shows Anthony becoming emotional as he cooperates with law enforcement.

This release occurs less than two weeks after a jury convicted Anthony of murder and sentenced him to 35 years in prison, rejecting his self-defense claim. The bodycam footage follows other recent disclosures of trial materials, including enhanced surveillance video, as public reaction to the case remains divided.
