The Texas Rangers have promoted catcher Malcolm Moore from high-A Hub City to Double-A Frisco. Moore, selected in the first round of the 2024 draft, spent the 2025 campaign recovering from a fractured thumb and posting a .195 batting average. He also appeared in 17 Arizona Fall League games.
After returning to Hub City for the 2026 season, Moore improved significantly. Through 217 plate appearances, he has recorded a .300 average with 10 home runs, 20 walks, and 42 strikeouts. He has also demonstrated strong defensive skills by throwing out 33 percent of base runners. Moore joins several other 2024 draftees on the Frisco roster. It remains unclear if he will start in the team's scheduled 11 a.m. game.
