Security cameras at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco recorded the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf and the subsequent escape of Karmelo Anthony. The Collin County District Court released the video, which shows the incident occurring on April 2, 2025, during rainy conditions at a track meet. Metcalf and his Memorial High School teammates were seated under a yellow tent when Anthony approached.

According to witness testimony included in the report, Anthony had refused to leave the tent after being asked by the students. A 15-year-old attendee stated that Anthony provoked the group with aggressive language before the attack. The footage shows Anthony stabbing Metcalf with a small blade near the top of the tent, causing the students to scatter in panic. Anthony then ran down the stands and exited the stadium, briefly pursued by an unidentified person who eventually stopped chasing him.

The report also notes that 911 audio released alongside the video captures the immediate aftermath, including a coach performing CPR and a student reporting that Metcalf was bleeding heavily. Anthony, who was 19 at the time of his conviction, was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the murder.
