The Swedish national soccer team encountered unexpected construction activity at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, during a training session on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. The team arrived to find twisted metal and debris from a demolition project in one section of the venue, which serves as the home field for FC Dallas. Midfielder Besfort Zeneli expressed confusion upon arrival, noting that no storm had passed through the area to cause such damage.

FC Dallas clarified that the work was a planned, controlled demolition using a dragging method, without explosives, within an active construction zone. The team confirmed that no injuries occurred and that the activity did not affect the playing field or facilities used by the Swedish squad. The stadium has been partially blocked off since Sweden established its base there in early June.

The multi-phase renovation project began in early 2025 and is scheduled for completion before the 2028 MLS season. FC Dallas continues to host regular-season games at the venue while construction proceeds.
