Texas Rangers center fielder Evan Carter delivered a strong performance in his first rehab game with Double-A Frisco on Friday night against the Amarillo Sod Poodles. Carter launched a solo home run in his opening at-bat and later drew a five-pitch walk. He added a single in his final plate appearance, finishing 2-for-2 with two hits, one run batted in, and one walk.

The 27-year-old outfielder has been sidelined since June 12 with a right oblique strain suffered while making a diving catch at Fenway Park. He participated in live batting practice at Globe Life Field on Thursday before traveling with the team for the road game.

While the Rangers have utilized Wyatt Langford in center field during Carter’s absence, the team values Carter’s defensive skills in that position. Carter is currently hitting .176 for the season. His return coincides with the recent activation of shortstop Corey Seager, potentially restoring depth to the lineup as Texas seeks to improve its standing in the American League West.
