Texas Rangers infielder Sebastian Walcott continued his recent surge in Double-A baseball by hitting his third consecutive home run. The 20-year-old, ranked as the No. 9 overall prospect for 2026 by MLB Pipeline, went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored in a 9-5 loss to the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
His solo home run came in the ninth inning, landing in left-center field.
This performance extended Walcott's hitting streak to seven games and marked his third straight multi-hit contest. Despite playing in only 30 games this season, the 6-foot-4 infielder is maintaining strong offensive numbers. His current minor league statistics include a .319 batting average, a .404 on-base percentage, and a 1.009 OPS, along with seven home runs, 16 RBIs, eight stolen bases, and 39 runs scored.
Walcott's playing time has been affected by health issues earlier in the year. The Rangers announced in early 2026 that he would miss a significant portion of the season due to a UCL tear in his right elbow. He underwent an internal brace procedure rather than Tommy John surgery, which allowed for a quicker return to the field.
Additionally, he spent time on the Double-A injured list in early August while dealing with concussion symptoms.
