Frisco has evolved into a significant travel destination in North Texas, offering a mix of sports facilities, entertainment venues, and dining options. A recent feature by KEYE highlights the city's transformation, noting its appeal to families, sports fans, and business travelers.
The Star serves as a central hub for visitors. This 91-acre campus functions as the world headquarters for the Dallas Cowboys while providing walkable access to hotels, offices, shopping, and dining. The property includes Tostitos Championship Plaza, which hosts community events, and the 12,000-seat Ford Center.
That venue has hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards, gymnastics competitions, cheer events, and high school football games. Guided tours of the facility allow guests to view Super Bowl trophies, championship rings, and practice areas.
Marla Roe, executive director of Visit Frisco, noted the city's rapid development since she helped establish the bureau in 2003. She recalled that Frisco previously had only four hotels. Today, the area contains 29 hotels and numerous leisure destinations. Among the newest additions is Universal Kids Resort, which opened in July with a theme park and hotel designed for younger children.
Other attractions include PGA Frisco for sports enthusiasts and Stonebriar Centre for shopping. Retail and dining options also surround The Star campus.
