Midland RockHounds outfielder Ryan Lasko underwent surgery after a collision with Frisco RoughRiders player Devin Taylor during the bottom of the third inning of game one in Frisco. The two players crashed while attempting a diving catch. Lasko remained motionless and was stretchered off the field, while Taylor stayed in the contest and hit a home run in the following inning to tie the score at 1-1.
Lasko, ranked as the Oakland Athletics' No. 18 prospect, was transported to a hospital for the procedure. Following the incident, Clark Elliott entered left field and Cameron Leary shifted to center field. The RockHounds lost game one 7-6. Game two is scheduled for tonight with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch, and the series continues through Sunday.
