White Castle has officially broken ground on its first location in North Texas, situated in The Colony. The development marks the fast-food chain's debut in Texas, ending a long period of anticipation for residents in the region. The Colony is located approximately 6 miles southwest of Frisco.

The Ohio-based company announced the project on Thursday, confirming that construction has begun on the site. This new establishment will be the chain's initial footprint in the state, joining its existing network of more than 330 locations nationwide. The brand, which has been in operation for 105 years, stated that the new site is part of its expansion strategy into the Lone Star State.

Details regarding the specific address, the timeline for the restaurant's opening, or the number of jobs the project will create were not provided in the initial announcement. The company has not yet released further information about the design or menu offerings specific to this Texas location.

The Colony has seen various other local developments and news events recently. A business owner in the area is currently seeking assistance from the public to identify individuals who damaged a mobile pet grooming vehicle known as the "Adventure Doggy Bus."

Additionally, Toca Social, described as the first permanent soccer social club in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, opened its doors in The Colony to coincide with preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Other recent incidents in the community include the arrest of a suspect in connection with an intentional house fire that occurred last month. Authorities also responded to a significant explosion early Monday morning that leveled a home just off Main Street and caused fire damage to adjacent properties.

In other local news, a resident claimed a prize of more than $1 million from a Texas Two Step lottery ticket.

The White Castle site represents a notable addition to the local commercial landscape. As construction proceeds, the community will await further updates on the project's progress and the eventual opening of the restaurant.
