Events in Plano, Frisco and North Texas This Week

A mix of free festivals, golf tournaments, and live music events are scheduled across North Texas through early August.

North Texas residents have a variety of entertainment options available this week, ranging from free community gatherings to ticketed performances and competitions. The schedule includes activities in Frisco, Plano, The Colony, Addison, Irving, and McKinney.

On July 27, PGA District in Frisco hosts Summer Jam, an evening featuring live music, interactive golf challenges, and brand activations. The long putt competition and a nine-hole putting course are open to the public, along with a performance by the Emerald City Band. That same day, Urban Crust Wood-Fired Pizza in Plano holds its fourth annual Margarita Brawl.

Attendees sample four signature margaritas paired with a four-course dinner and vote for their favorite cocktail.

From July 28 through July 31, Fields Ranch in Frisco hosts the Junior PGA Championship. The tournament features 312 junior golfers competing for the title and serves as a qualifier for the 2027 U.S. Junior Ryder Cup Team. The event has previously launched the careers of notable players including Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, and Scottie Scheffler.

On July 30, Grandscape in The Colony offers a free Casino Night on the Corona Stage & Lawn. Professional dealers from Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant will host classic casino games for the evening. On July 31, Legacy West in Plano provides professional first-day-of-school photos for families. The $10 fee covers the entire group and includes a backdrop near Nike and Free People.

The first week of August brings several additional events. Vitruvian Park in Addison hosts the 12th annual Vitruvian Salsa Festival on August 1, featuring Zone D'Mambo, DJ Ruben Reyes, and professional salsa lessons. That same evening, the Courtyard Theater in Plano presents a dance performance inspired by the 1924 ballet Le Train Bleu, honoring designs by Coco Chanel and Pablo Picasso.

Also on August 1, The Fray and Dashboard Confessional perform at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving as part of the Summer of Light Tour. TUPPS Brewery in McKinney hosts a family-friendly evening market with local vendors, craft beer, and live music.

On August 2, Legacy Food Hall in Plano hosts the Urban Trivia game show in the Lexus Box Garden, focusing on questions about Black culture.

An ongoing exhibition, Texas Sculpts V, runs at the ArtCentre of Plano from July 11 through August 29. The fifth annual showcase displays contemporary sculptural works by artists across the state.
