North Texas is hosting a wide array of events this week, ranging from professional football viewings and live music to community sports days and seasonal exhibitions. The schedule includes activities in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Dallas and The Colony.
The NFL season begins on Sept. 9 at Legacy Hall in Plano with a viewing of the New England Patriots versus Seattle Seahawks game. Attendees can watch the 7:20 p.m. kickoff on large indoor and outdoor screens. Dinner and beverages will be available prior to the start time.
On Sept. 11, comedian Troy Bond performs at Mic Drop Comedy in Plano. The New York-based entertainer brings his stand-up routine to the venue. Later that evening, country music artist Tim McGraw takes the stage at Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas. He is joined by special guests 49 Winchester and Timothy Wayne for the concert.
Sept. 12 features multiple events across the region. The 12th annual Verve Celebrity Softball Classic returns to Riders Field in Frisco. The gathering brings together veterans, athletes and entertainers for a family-friendly afternoon. The event includes a tribute to the Sept. 11 attacks, live music and post-game fireworks. Proceeds from the game support veterans and other charitable organizations.
Also on Sept. 12, Kaleidoscope Park in Frisco hosts Community Sports Day. The day focuses on healthy living with interactive games and competitions involving local athletes and healthcare workers. In The Colony, SCHEELS marks North Texas Giving Day on the Grandscape Lawn with an evening of community giving.
Entertainment options that day include a rosé wine tasting at Omni PGA Frisco in the PGA District. Guests can sample ten different wines and choose between tickets for wine only or a package including charcuterie. At Rollertown Beerworks in Frisco, the band Van Full of Nuns performs pop-punk and emo covers alongside original music.
