North Texas is hosting a variety of events this week, ranging from collegiate athletics to live music and seasonal celebrations. The schedule includes activities in Frisco, Plano, Addison, Dallas, Waxahachie and McKinney.
The Jackson T. Stephens Cup runs from Sept. 14 through 16 at PGA Frisco’s Fields Ranch East Course. The invitational tournament features top NCAA Division I men’s and women’s golf teams alongside standout players from HBCUs and U.S. Military Service Academies. The competition utilizes both stroke play and match play formats.
In Frisco, Plaza Live! takes place on Sept. 16 at the newly completed 4th Street Plaza. The event highlights live music from local performers in a $18.7 million project that includes an amphitheater-style green space, covered walkways and gateway monuments. Attendees can also dine and shop in the downtown area.
Musical acts are scheduled across the region. The Bellamy Brothers perform on Sept. 17 at the Lexus Box Garden at Legacy Hall in Plano. Billy Idol plays Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas on Sept. 18. Additionally, the Texas Mead & Music Festival makes its North Texas debut on Sept. 19 at Scarborough Faire in Waxahachie, featuring 13 local meaderies.
Seasonal and community events are also prominent. The 2026 Plano Balloon Festival runs from Sept. 17 through 20 at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve, showcasing over 35 hot-air balloons with morning launches and evening glows. Addison Circle Park hosts Addison Oktoberfest from Sept. 17 through 20, offering German food, polka music and dachshund events.
