Universal Destinations & Experiences has officially opened Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, marking the company’s debut in the regional theme park sector. The facility is designed specifically for children between the ages of 3 and 8.

Page Thompson, president of New Ventures for Universal Destinations & Experiences, stated in a press release that the park was built with young visitors in mind. She noted that the design aims to provide an environment where children can enjoy the attractions and see them smiling.

The park features seven distinct themed zones that showcase characters and stories from various franchises. These areas include DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, and Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom. Additional zones highlight Illumination’s Minions in Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, and Puss in Boots Del Mar. The Isle of Curiosity area features Gabby’s Dollhouse.

Accommodations are available at a 300-room hotel situated at the park’s entrance. Each room can accommodate up to six guests. The property offers family-friendly amenities and dining options, though specific menus are not detailed.

Admission pricing varies by duration and add-ons. A one-day general admission ticket costs $54.99, while a two-day pass is $73.99. Guests can purchase a one-day ticket with a Coca-Cola Freestyle souvenir cup for $69.99, or a two-day ticket with the cup for $101.99.

Special experiences are also available. The Troll-ify Me! Experience allows guests to transform into characters from the Trolls movies for $25 per person. For a higher price point, the Private VIP Experience offers a four-hour guided tour with priority access to attractions and exclusive benefits for $999.99 per person.

Molly Murphy, president of Universal Creative, described the resort as a unique introduction to Universal entertainment for a younger demographic. She said the goal was to create a space where families can play and make memories together.

Details regarding future expansion plans or long-term attendance figures are not yet clear. For more information, visitors can check UniversalKidsResort.com.
