Universal Kids Resort in Frisco is scheduled to welcome visitors on July 1, less than two weeks from the current date. The 20-acre property sits at the intersection of Dallas Parkway and Panther Creek Parkway. Molly Murphy, president of Universal Creative, cited North Texas’s rapid growth and welcoming local partnership as key reasons for the location.

The park includes seven themed areas drawn from DreamWorks, Illumination, and Nickelodeon franchises such as Shrek, SpongeBob SquarePants, Minions, Trolls, Puss in Boots, Jurassic World, and Gabby’s Dollhouse. Each zone offers rides, food, shopping, and interactive play spaces designed for young children. Brian Robinson, executive vice president and chief creative officer, noted the design prioritizes first-time thrills and creative expression for families.

A 300-room hotel with family suites sleeping up to six guests is part of the resort. Sharon Parker, director of marketing and sales, encouraged locals to consider staycations. Robert Martiez, director of culinary experiences, stated that menus were developed with children’s preferences in mind rather than creating adult options first. During a media preview, reporter Lori Brown and her four children tested attractions including the Bello Bay Cruise, a river raft ride featuring Minions-themed water battles. The children expressed excitement for upcoming lands, particularly Jurassic World and Trolls.
