The University of Southern California football program has added Trey Wright, a three-star quarterback from Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas, to its roster. This commitment marks the Trojans' first signing for the class of 2028.
Wright announced his decision via social media, stating he chose USC over offers from Oregon, Kentucky, SMU, and Arizona. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity and signaled readiness for the next phase of his career with a message to the fanbase.
Head coach Lincoln Riley extended the scholarship offer on August 8, making Wright the sole quarterback recipient in that recruiting cycle. This selective approach follows a pattern where USC offered only one quarterback during the previous class year.
During the 2025 season, Wright led his team to the Class 5A UIL state championship game. He recorded 4,062 passing yards and 43 touchdowns, while also rushing for 1,798 yards and 16 scores. His performance earned him a spot on the MaxPreps Sophomore first-team All-American list.
Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing 180 pounds, Wright is noted for his arm strength and ability to execute plays both inside and outside the pocket. He also holds Division I basketball offers and was rated as a three-star prospect heading into his junior year.
