Allen is about 9 miles east of Frisco. As the Independence Day holiday approaches, the city has released a schedule detailing which public facilities will be closed or operating on modified hours on July 3.

According to the city’s website, a significant number of municipal buildings and services will be shut down for the holiday. Allen City Hall, the Allen Municipal Court, and the Allen Public Library will all be closed. The Allen Animal Shelter and the records division of the Allen Police Department will also not be open for business.

Recreation and leisure facilities face a mix of closures and limited availability. The Allen Senior Recreation Center, the Don Rodenbaugh Aquatics Center, and the Joe Farmer Recreation Center will be closed. At The Edge facility, the indoor portion will be closed, but the outdoor skate park will remain accessible to the public.

Several other locations will offer reduced hours rather than full closures. Ford Pool will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Course at Watters Creek will be open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The city’s website serves as the primary source for these holiday hours. Residents are advised to check the official city website for any last-minute changes or additional information regarding specific services. Further details on other potential holiday adjustments were not provided in the initial announcement.
