Residents can double their buying power in the historic downtown Rail District by purchasing a BOGO Gift Card through the Rail District Digital Gift Card Program. The initiative begins on June 1 and allows participants to receive a matching bonus card for qualifying purchases.

Under the program, the Yiftee digital gift card app serves as the platform for accessing gift cards, tracking balances, and adding funds to Apple or Google Wallet. For example, a resident who purchases a BOGO Gift Card for $50 receives an additional $50 Bonus Card, resulting in $100 in total spending power. The extra $50 and any associated gift card fees are covered by the Frisco Community Development Corporation (FCDC).

The FCDC has invested more than $1.1 million to support businesses in the Rail District, which is home to more than 130 establishments. Chad Brubaker, President of the FCDC, stated that the district is entering a new chapter as construction wraps up, making downtown Frisco more walkable, connected, and family-friendly. He noted that the program encourages the community to support local small businesses and enjoy the new atmosphere.

Bonus Cards are issued only while program funding lasts. Once the funding is exhausted, only standard gift cards will remain available. The Bonus Cards expire on September 20, while standard gift cards never expire. Gift cards cannot be used for tobacco, vape, or smoke products.

Since the program launched last October, more than $950,000 in gift cards and bonus cards have been redeemed, according to Assistant City Manager Ben Brezina. Participating businesses are listed inside the Yiftee Gift Card app and on the program web page. Residents can review guidelines and policies at RailDistrictFrisco.com.
