A new set of traffic signals at the intersection of Dallas Parkway, Fields Parkway, and Universal Parkway is being activated in flashing mode today, June 2, 2026. During this initial phase, traffic traveling on Dallas Parkway will encounter a flashing yellow light and will not need to stop. Drivers on Fields Parkway and Universal Parkway will see a flashing red light and must continue to stop at the existing stop signs.

The stop signs at this intersection will be removed, and the traffic signal will become fully operational on Thursday, June 4. On that same day, a new section of roadway between the frontage roads will open to traffic at 9 a.m. This connection between Fields Parkway and Universal Parkway creates a new route that passes under the Dallas North Tollway.

Drivers using the Dallas Parkway frontage roads should be prepared to stop at a red light that allows east-west traffic to cross at this location. The city has released a map of closures and detours for public review.

Officials are urging drivers to use caution at this intersection as the public becomes accustomed to the new traffic patterns. This update follows other recent traffic adjustments in Frisco, including a traffic switch on PGA Parkway and roadwork on Lebanon Road. Residents are advised to plan their routes accordingly as the city continues to implement infrastructure improvements.
