Anthem Drive will be closed at King Road for three weeks beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, June 22, as part of the King Road Widening Project. The closure allows crews to reconstruct the intersection. This closure is in addition to the previously announced closure of westbound King Road, which remains in effect.
During the closure, drivers will not be able to enter or exit the Frisco Lakes neighborhood from King Road using Anthem Drive. Traffic that normally uses Anthem Drive to reach eastbound King Road will be directed south on Anthem Drive to exit the neighborhood at West Stonebrook Parkway.
Residents may also travel through the adjacent Villages of Creekwood neighborhood and use Drake Lane to access eastbound King Road. A map of closures and detours is available as a PDF.
Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zone and to find an alternate route in advance. Drivers can also use the Waze app to navigate road closures. Information on how to learn about or install the Waze app on a smartphone is available online.
More information about the King Road widening project can be found online. This announcement follows other recent traffic updates in Frisco, including a traffic switch on PGA Parkway between Preston Road and Coit Road on Tuesday, June 16, and a weekly roadwork roundup posted on June 15, 2026. Other recent notices include a new traffic signal activated on Dallas Parkway at Fields Parkway and Universal Parkway, a closure of 5th Street between Main and Elm Streets starting May 28, and a traffic switch on Lebanon Road starting April 20.
