On June 24, 2026, at approximately 7:00 a.m., members of the Frisco Police Department arrested 50-year-old Jason Honrud on a murder warrant connected to a 24-year-old cold case. The arrest was made in coordination with the Waxahachie Police Department. Honrud is a resident of Waxahachie.

This arrest is linked to the 2002 murder of Frank Weiss, a Plano resident who was found dead near Lake Lewisville within the Frisco city limits. The case remained unsolved for two decades until recent developments in the investigation.

Jason Honrud is currently married to Lisa Honrud, who was previously arrested in connection with this murder in April. This latest development marks the third suspect to be taken into custody regarding the death of Frank Weiss.
