Third Suspect Arrested in 24-Year Frisco Cold Case Murder

Frisco Police and Waxahachie Police arrested Jason Honrud on June 24, 2026, in connection with the 2002 murder of Frank Weiss.

On June 24, 2026, at approximately 7:00 a.m., members of the Frisco Police Department, working in coordination with the Waxahachie Police Department, arrested 50-year-old Waxahachie resident Jason Honrud. The arrest was made on a murder warrant connected to a 24-year-old cold case.

This arrest is linked to the 2002 murder of Plano resident Frank Weiss, who was found dead near Lake Lewisville within the Frisco city limits. Jason Honrud is currently married to Lisa Honrud, who was arrested in connection with this murder back in April.

This development follows previous arrests in the investigation. A press release posted on April 20, 2026, announced the first suspect arrest in the 24-year-old cold case. A subsequent press release posted on May 8, 2026, detailed the arrest of the second suspect. The current arrest marks the third individual taken into custody for this long-standing case.
