Angela Stanford is returning to TCU, this time as an assistant coach for the university’s women’s golf team. Her hiring follows her recent service as captain of the U.S. team at the Solheim Cup.
Stanford played for TCU from 1996 to 2000 and earned All-American recognition four times. She is still the only four-time All-American in the program’s history and holds the school record with 10 wins. Stanford is from Saginaw, about 15 miles from Fort Worth.
TCU head coach Ravaioli-Larkin said the program is thrilled to have Stanford back and described her as the team’s third coach. Ravaioli-Larkin also pointed to Stanford’s background as a major champion and her leadership of the U.S. Solheim Cup team. The university did not provide additional details about Stanford’s duties.
