The Dallas Cowboys have lost an offensive lineman from their practice squad after the Green Bay Packers agreed to sign guard Laken Tomlinson, according to NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. The move leaves Dallas with two offensive linemen on its practice squad.
Tomlinson joined the Cowboys earlier this month after All-Pro guard Tyler Smith went on injured reserve following thumb surgery. Tomlinson did not play in either of Dallas' first two games, and it is not yet clear when he will make his Packers debut.
The 34-year-old was selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 2015 draft. Over 11 NFL seasons, he has appeared in 173 games and started 162. Tomlinson was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2021 while playing for the San Francisco 49ers.
He has also played for the New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans, appearing in 10 games for Houston in 2025.
Dallas' other practice-squad offensive linemen are Marcellus Johnson and Wanya Morris. Johnson is listed as a tackle and has not played in an NFL game, while Morris has played tackle on both the left and right sides during his three-year career. Smith is eligible to return from injured reserve after Week 4.
Green Bay has dealt with injuries along its offensive line. Aaron Banks and Zach Bako-Bewele missed Week 3, and Bako-Bewele is out for the season with a torn patellar tendon. Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been sacked eight times, and the team has allowed 57 pressures through three games, according to Pro Football Focus.
