DJ Lagway is listed as doubtful for Baylor's Week 3 game against Louisiana Tech after an ankle sprain kept the junior quarterback out of the Bears' win over Prairie View A&M.

Lagway suffered the injury during Baylor's season-opening loss to Auburn. He played in that game after transferring from Florida, but the injury prevented him from taking part in the team's second contest. Baylor coach Dave Aranda said earlier in the week that Lagway had joined a Monday walkthrough and would be assessed based on his practice work.

The injury is not expected to keep Lagway out for a month or longer, according to the report. It is not yet clear whether he would be available in an emergency against Louisiana Tech. On3's Pete Nakos reported that Baylor hopes to have Lagway back for its Big 12 opener against Colorado next Saturday.

Junior Nate Bennett is expected to take over at quarterback if Lagway cannot play. The depth chart also lists Edward Griffin as QB2 and Quinn Murphy as QB3.

Bennett made his first start against Prairie View A&M and completed 26 of 34 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 13 yards and a touchdown, while throwing two interceptions. Lagway's status for the Louisiana Tech game remains uncertain.
