The Houston Texans have made notable additions to their roster during training camp, including former No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney and Mario Edwards, who was signed to enhance the defensive line. However, the team has not made significant changes to its wide receiver group, opting instead to rely on younger players already on the roster.
As the start of the regular season approaches, the Texans' chances of acquiring an impactful wide receiver appear to be decreasing. Recent free agency activity has seen top wide receivers such as Deebo Samuel, Stefon Diggs, and Keenan Allen sign with other teams, leaving Houston with fewer options.
While Tyreek Hill remains a free agent, concerns about his recovery from a torn ACL injury make signing him seem unrealistic. Other available receivers, including Curtis Samuel, Brandin Cooks, Tyler Lockett, and DeAndre Hopkins, may not significantly improve the Texans' current depth chart.
The Texans might choose to maintain their current wide receiver lineup, which includes talent like Nico Collins as the potential WR1 and Jayden Higgins as a possible WR2. Additionally, players like Jaylin Noel and Xavier Hutchinson are expected to contribute, and a healthy Tank Dell could also play a role.
