The Houston Texans worked out linebacker Kenneth Murray on Tuesday as they look for help after Henry To'oTo'o suffered a shoulder injury. Murray did not sign a contract during the visit.
To'oTo'o was placed on injured reserve and is expected to be sidelined for several months. Houston also moved linebacker Jamal Hill from its practice squad to the active roster.
Murray, 27, entered the NFL as the Los Angeles Chargers' 23rd overall selection in 2020 after earning All-American honors at Oklahoma. He joined the Tennessee Titans in 2024 and led that team in tackles.
The Dallas Cowboys acquired Murray from Tennessee during the following offseason in exchange for two draft picks. He started all 16 games for Dallas last season, recording 81 tackles, four tackles for loss, two pass breakups, one sack and one fumble recovery. He finished second on the Cowboys in tackles.
Murray has also worked out for the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants since the offseason began. The Texans could potentially use him as practice-squad depth and elevate him for games, although no agreement with the linebacker was reported.
