The Deciding Moment
The Texas Rangers avoided a costly loss by edging the Los Angeles Angels 2-1 on Saturday at Globe Life Field. The game remained deadlocked through nine full innings, with neither side able to break the tension. The decisive sequence occurred in the top of the 10th inning.
Duran reached base on an infield single to third base, allowing Langford to score on a throwing error by third baseman Guzman. This play gave the Rangers the lead they held until the final out.
Pitching Performance
Both bullpens were instrumental in keeping the game close for nine innings. For the Rangers, MacKenzie Gore pitched six innings, allowing two hits and no earned runs while striking out seven batters. He issued one walk.
Relievers Cole Winn, Chase Silseth, and Jacob Latz each pitched one scoreless inning. Tyler Alexander closed out the 10th inning with two strikeouts and one hit allowed. He was credited with the win, improving his record to 4-2.
