Caglianone Powers Kansas City Ahead
Jac Caglianone delivered the decisive offensive output for the Kansas City Royals, hitting two home runs to help secure a 5-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday. The power surge provided enough run support for the home team at Kauffman Stadium, improving their record to 28-39, while the Rangers fell to 32-34.
Caglianone’s first blast came in the fifth inning, a 421-foot shot to right center that cut the Rangers’ lead to 2-1. He extended the Royals’ advantage in the sixth inning with a 431-foot home run to right center, driving in Pasquantino to make the score 5-2.
Rangers Take Early Lead
The Texas Rangers opened the scoring in the second inning when Burger singled to left field, allowing Langford to score and putting the visitors ahead 1-0. The Rangers doubled their lead in the fourth inning, adding two runs on throwing errors by Royals catcher Jensen. Both Carter and another runner scored on the miscues, making the score 2-0 before Kansas City responded.
The Rangers added another run in the sixth inning when Garcia tripled to right field and Jensen scored. Pasquantino followed with a ground-rule double, scoring Garcia to bring the Royals within one at 2-3. However, Caglianone’s two-run homer in the same inning shifted the momentum.
