FRISCO, Texas — Universal Destinations and Experiences will open the gates of Universal Kids Resort on Tuesday, July 1, bringing the first theme park of its kind to North Texas after more than three years of construction on a 20-acre site in Frisco.

The on-site Universal Kids Resort Hotel, located just steps from the park entrance, begins welcoming guests today, June 30. The 300-room hotel offers standard and deluxe queen rooms as well as family suites that sleep up to six, and features dining options, an outdoor pool, and early park admission privileges.

> "This is a theme park built with kids in mind," said Sharon Parker, director of marketing and sales for Universal Kids Resort. "At the end of the day, we think that the inner child in all of us is going to be brought to life once those families come to the park."

The park is designed primarily for children ages 3 to 8 and features seven themed lands built around popular franchises: Shrek's Swamp, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, SpongeBob SquarePants' Bikini Bottom, Minions' Bello Bay Club, TrollsFest, Puss in Boots' Del Mar, and an Isle of Curiosity featuring Gabby's Dollhouse. Each land offers kid-sized rides, interactive shows, play areas, and splash zones.

Tickets went on sale in late May, with one-day admission starting at $54.99 per person and two-day passes also available. The park's first annual pass option is now on sale, and vacation packages can bundle hotel stays with specialty 1.5-day admission tickets.

The project represents a $550 million investment by Universal and anchors Frisco's growing reputation as a regional entertainment destination alongside the PGA of America headquarters and the Dallas Cowboys' The Star. The park expects to draw families from across Texas and neighboring states.
