Frisco voted in two counties on Tuesday, and in the race for the 4th Congressional District those two counties pointed in different directions. In the end it did not matter: Republican U.S. Rep. Pat Fallon is projected to keep the seat, carried by the district's more rural counties to the north and east.

Under the congressional map the Legislature drew in 2025, all of Frisco lies inside the 4th District, according to the Texas Legislative Council's report of cities by district. The district also includes most of Celina, Prosper and Plano, about 40% of Collin County's population, about a tenth of Denton County's, all of Grayson, Fannin, Lamar and Red River counties and part of Bowie County.

NBC News projected Fallon the winner over Democrat Jason Pearce. Its results page, with about 99% of the expected vote in, showed Fallon at 171,652 votes (56.1%) and Pearce at 134,563 (43.9%).

Collin and Denton

In Collin County, Pearce led 91,314 to 81,475, or 52.85% to 47.15%, in the county's unofficial election-night tally, which carries a 1:02 a.m. time stamp and includes every vote center.

The Denton County side of the district went narrowly the other way. In Denton County's online returns, refreshed at 1:40 a.m. and complete for all 23 district precincts in the county, Fallon was ahead 20,437 to 19,409, or 51.29% to 48.71%.

Combined, the two counties that include Frisco gave Pearce a lead of a little under 9,000 votes.

The rest of the district

Grayson County alone more than erased that edge. NBC's county tallies showed Fallon with 38,617 votes there to Pearce's 14,767, about 72%. He also took about 79% in Fannin and Bowie, 76% in Lamar and Red River, and his margins in those five counties added up to roughly 46,000 votes.

All of the figures are unofficial. Collin County's elections office notes that results become official only once they are canvassed.
