Twins Rally Past Astros 8-3 Behind Bradley's Dominance

Bradley's Strikeout Display

Minnesota Twins pitcher Taj Bradley delivered a masterful performance on the mound, recording 11 strikeouts over five innings to lead his team to an 8-3 victory over the Houston Astros. The win improved Bradley’s record to 7-3 for the season. He allowed four hits and one earned run while walking three batters. The Astros’ starting pitcher, Tatsuya Imai, took the loss, falling to 5-4 after pitching 1.1 innings and surrendering five earned runs on four hits with five walks.

Early Offense Sets Tone

The Twins established their offensive presence early in the first inning. With two outs, Bell launched a 452-foot home run to center field, driving in two runs and giving Minnesota a 2-0 lead. The Astros responded in the bottom of the frame when Altuve scored on a groundout by Paredes that resulted in a double play, making the score 2-1.

Minnesota’s offense exploded in the second inning when Clemens hit a 399-foot home run to right-center field. The blast brought in two additional runs, Keaschall and Lee, extending the Twins' advantage to 5-1. The power surge continued in the fifth inning when Larnach singled to center field, allowing Caratini and Keaschall to cross the plate and push the lead to 7-1.

Late Inning Support

Houston managed to score in the sixth inning. Loperfido singled to left field, bringing Matthews home to make it 7-2. Later in the same inning, Allen singled to right field, scoring Smith and advancing Loperfido to third, bringing the final score of the frame to 7-3. The Twins added an insurance run in the eighth inning when Keaschall hit a 373-foot home run to left-center field.

Pitching Depth Secures Win

The Twins’ bullpen maintained the lead after Bradley’s exit. Cody Laweryson pitched 0.2 innings, allowing two hits. Andrew Morris secured the save with 1.1 scoreless innings, earning his 11th save of the season. Taylor Rogers and Yoendrys Gomez each pitched one scoreless inning, with Rogers recording one strikeout and Gomez adding another.

For Houston, AJ Blubaugh pitched 2.2 innings, allowing two hits and recording three strikeouts. Nate Pearson gave up two earned runs in one inning, while Miguel Ullola pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Bryan Abreu closed the game, allowing one earned run on one hit with three strikeouts in two innings.

The game was played at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas, in front of 29,179 fans. The victory improved the Twins’ record to 42-46, while the Astros fell to 43-46.
