Main Street closes Tuesday afternoon for Rail District celebration

The Oct. 13 closure runs from 1 to 11 p.m. between 3rd Street and North County Road, with traffic diverted to Elm Street.

Drivers heading through downtown Frisco on Tuesday, Oct. 13, will need to go around a closed stretch of Main Street. The city says the road will shut between 3rd Street and North County Road at 1 p.m. for Rail District Celebration setup and reopen at 11 p.m.

The celebration starts at 6 p.m., five hours after the road closure begins. Main Street traffic will be routed to Elm Street. Drivers approaching from side streets will use Elm or Oak streets, then 3rd Street or North/South County Road to return to Main.

For people attending, the city lists parking in the new Rail District garage at 3rd and Elm streets, plus public surface spaces along Oak and Elm. Through drivers are encouraged to use Eldorado Parkway or Stonebrook Parkway for east-west trips.

The city announced the closure Oct. 9. All times are local.
