Frisco leaders have advanced plans for a specialized training complex intended to simulate a small urban environment for emergency responders. The City Council approved a $507,050 initial contract with Crossland Construction during its June 16 meeting. This agreement covers the early phases of a project estimated to cost approximately $7.9 million in total construction expenses.

The proposed site is located at 14901 Donnie Mayfield Way. City documents indicate the facility will consist of five distinct structures, including a mock gas station, designed to support scenario-based drills. These exercises would cover tactics such as active shooter response, warrant service, medical aid, and fire suppression.

A final maximum price agreement for the full construction scope will be presented to the council at a future date. Details regarding the specific schedule for the project remain unclear.
