A grassfire located south of Frisco High School has altered dismissal procedures for students on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Frisco ISD officials confirmed that the school building remains safe, but traffic patterns for departing students have been modified to steer clear of the affected zone.
The Frisco Fire Department responded to the incident after identifying at least one fire burning in a field near the campus. District representatives noted that two possible fires were under consideration, prompting the decision to reroute students as they leave the premises.
Principal Shawn Perry addressed parents in a letter, stating that students whose usual walking routes are affected by the fire have been advised to stay in the cafeteria until the flames are contained. Perry emphasized that the district is maintaining close communication with the Frisco Fire Department, which is currently on the scene managing the response.
