Plano is adding to its dining landscape with three newly opened establishments and two more slated to open later this year. Plano is about 12 miles southeast of Frisco.

Yang's Smokehouse began operations on June 19 at 240 Legacy Drive, Ste. 306. The menu features meat skewers including sliced beef, pork belly, lamb, and chicken wings. Additional offerings include grilled vegetables, fried rice, stir-fry, noodles, and ribs. A section labeled "Adventurous Eats" includes spicy roasted pig brain.

Also now open is a fried chicken spot at 2104 Preston Road, which started serving customers on June 17. The establishment provides five spice levels, ranging from mild to "Shut the Cluck Up!" Non-spicy choices include classic Southern fried chicken and sweet and smoky dry rub options. Popular items feature a classic chicken sandwich with custom sauce and pickles, as well as dirty bird fries topped with pimento mac and cheese. Dessert selections consist of banana pudding, peach cobbler, and a waffle sundae.

The third recent opening is located at 5973 West Parker Road, occupying the former Kona Grill space that closed in June 2025. This business, situated in West Plano Village near Parker Road and the Dallas North Tollway, began operations on June 13. It will serve wings and sandwiches.

Looking ahead, a Greek restaurant is scheduled to open in September 2026 at 1016 E. 15th St. The chain, which already has a location in Anna, is known for Kalamakia, or Greek meat skewers made with chicken, pork, lamb, or vegetables. The menu also includes soups, salads, gyros, and wraps.

Additionally, Yo! Bowl is set to open in mid-July at 4701 W. Park Blvd., Ste. 105. This venue offers customizable bowls using mifen, a traditional southwest Chinese rice noodle. Customers can choose their preferred broth, protein, vegetables, toppings, and spice level.

Further details regarding specific opening dates for the September locations or additional menu items for the mid-July opening were not provided.
