The Sweden men's national soccer team held an open training session at Toyota Stadium, which operates as Frisco Stadium during the tournament, on Tuesday morning. More than 2,000 attendees, including local residents and FC Dallas season ticket holders, gained entry through a lottery system to observe the practice.

Sweden defender Herman Johansson, who plays for FC Dallas and was called up to the national squad in late May, shared insights with the crowd. He noted that the team has been training in various conditions in Sweden to adapt to the warmer North Texas climate. Johansson also mentioned that players have sampled local barbecue since arriving in the region, though he emphasized that the squad remains focused on upcoming matches.

Sweden enters the tournament ranked 38th globally, marking their first World Cup appearance since 2018. Forward Gustaf Nilsson expressed readiness for the competition after a long preparation period. The 2026 FIFA World Cup begins on Thursday, June 11, with Sweden’s first North Texas match scheduled for June 25 against Japan at Dallas Stadium.
