More than 4,000 people attended an open training session for Sweden’s national soccer team at Toyota Stadium in Frisco on Tuesday. The gathering included FC Dallas season-ticket holders and local residents eager to see the squad before the FIFA World Cup begins later in the week.

Attendees described the event as a valuable opportunity to observe elite athletes up close. Some visitors, including young club players, noted that watching the professionals helped them understand preparation techniques they could apply to their own teams. Others arrived without prior knowledge of the schedule but expressed enthusiasm for the experience.

The session took place at Toyota Stadium, which is currently undergoing an $180 million renovation to expand seating and update facilities. Despite the construction, fans reported that the atmosphere remained positive. Similar anticipation is visible at The Star, where visitors are photographing FIFA-themed installations, including a large decorative cleat.

Swedish forward Gustaf Nilsson noted that while the practice was routine, the public support provided a morale boost. The World Cup officially starts Thursday, with North Texas preparing to host teams and fans from around the globe.
