North Texas residents have a variety of options for entertainment this week, ranging from professional baseball games to immersive theatrical experiences and cultural festivals. The events span multiple cities, offering activities for different interests.
The Frisco RoughRiders are concluding their home season at Riders Field with a six-game series against the Amarillo Sod Poodles, running from Sept. 1 through Sept. 6. The team’s homestand features several themed nights, including Quesos & Cervezas, Dallas Mavs Night, and Dallas Stars Night.
In Plano, the Downtown Arts District is hosting its fifth annual Art Drop Day on Sept. 3 and 4. Participants follow clues to find original artworks hidden throughout the district. Later in the week, the Water Lantern Festival takes place at Haggard Park on Sept. 5 and 6.
Attendees can personalize lanterns before a synchronized sunset launch accompanied by live music, with organizers expecting more than 2,000 participants.
The Downtown Plano Disco Cowgirl Market returns to the arts district on Sept. 6. The pop-up event features local vendors selling handmade goods, apparel, and accessories, along with hat bar experiences and permanent jewelry services.
Musical performances are scheduled across the region. In Frisco, a free Hispanic Heritage Celebration occurs at Kaleidoscope Park on Sept. 5. The festival includes a Parade of Nations, cultural programming, food, games, and a closing concert by Havana NRG.
Meanwhile, Brandi Carlile performs at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on Sept. 5 as part of her Human Tour, with The Head and the Heart as special guests.
