The Frisco Police Department has arrested Ann Mary Burton on charges of Injury to a Child, Serious Bodily Injury, and Endangering a Child. The arrest follows an investigation initiated after a welfare check request was received regarding allegations of child neglect and abuse.

According to the department, police received an email on August 11, 2026, at approximately 12:47 a.m., requesting a welfare check in the 12000 block of Bethel Drive. During the subsequent investigation, detectives established probable cause and obtained arrest warrants for the offenses.

The charge of Injury to a Child, Serious Bodily Injury, is classified as a First-Degree Felony. It carries a potential prison sentence of five to 99 years and a fine of up to $10,000, with a bond set at $1,000,000.

The charge of Endangering a Child is a State Jail Felony, punishable by 180 days to two years in a state jail facility and a fine up to $10,000, with a bond of $500,000.

Burton was taken into custody on August 14, 2026, and is currently being held at the Collin County Jail. The Frisco Police Department stated that this is an active and ongoing investigation.
