Trevon Diggs, a former All-Pro cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, has signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This marks the second cornerback signing for the Seahawks this week, following their acquisition of Terrion Arnold, who is facing serious legal issues in Florida.
At just 27 years old, Diggs has established himself as a notable player in the NFL, with 20 career interceptions and 63 passes defended. He is expected to compete for a position in the Seahawks' secondary, which is currently dealing with injuries.
Diggs previously signed a five-year, $97 million contract extension with the Cowboys in July 2023. However, he played in only 22 of 51 possible regular-season games over the next three seasons. His time with the Cowboys ended after a series of incidents, including an unusual accident at home where he claimed a television fell on him, leading to an extended absence in 2025.
The Cowboys ultimately waived Diggs after he requested to remain in the Washington, D.C. area with his family following a Christmas Day game, a request that the team denied. He was subsequently claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers shortly after his release from Dallas.
