Denison, Texas — A year after devastating floods impacted the Texas Hill Country, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has reported distributing approximately $82 million in recovery assistance to affected survivors. The nonprofit, established in 1982 and based in Kerrville, initiated its relief fund on July 4, 2025, coinciding with the flood event that claimed over 130 lives.
With total donations exceeding $150 million, this initiative stands as one of the largest privately led disaster recovery efforts in Texas history. According to CEO Austin Dickson, who personally experienced loss during the flooding, the anniversary evokes both sorrow and hope. The foundation promptly allocated $15 million within 45 days to over 50 local nonprofits focused on emergency aid and crisis support.
