Eovaldi’s Strikeout Power
Nathan Eovaldi anchored the Texas Rangers’ offense with a sharp pitching performance, striking out nine batters in five innings of work. He allowed three earned runs on six hits and one walk, securing his ninth win of the season to improve his record to 9-7.
The Rangers’ bullpen provided support, with Tyler Alexander, Peyton Gray, and Robby Ahlstrom combining for two scoreless innings to earn hold credits. Cole Winn and Gavin Collyer each pitched a frame, with Winn allowing one earned run and Collyer remaining perfect with no earned runs.
Early Tigers Lead
Detroit took an early advantage in the second inning. Díaz launched a 414-foot home run to left center, giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead. The score remained 1-0 until Jung walked, allowing Osuna to score and make it 2-0.
Duran followed with a sacrifice fly to right, bringing Lopez home for a 3-0 Tigers lead. Jung added to the tally in the fourth inning with a double to left that scored Lopez, making it 4-0. Duran singled to center in the same frame, driving in Jung to extend the lead to 5-0.
Rangers Rally in Fifth
The Rangers began chipping away at the deficit in the fifth inning. Keith hit a 405-foot home run to right center, cutting the score to 5-1. The momentum shifted further when Lee homered to left center, a 383-foot shot that scored McKinstry and brought the Rangers within two runs at 5-3.
