Adell and Grissom Lead Offensive Outburst

Adell delivered a pivotal two-hit offensive display, launching two home runs to help the Los Angeles Angels secure a 13-1 victory over the Texas Rangers. Grissom also contributed significantly with multiple hits, including a key double that extended the Angels' lead. The combined efforts of these two players accounted for much of the offensive production in the game.

Early Inning Activity Sets Tone

The Angels established control early, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Neto scored on a Grissom single to left field. The gap widened in the fourth inning when Adell homered to right field, a 359-foot shot that drove in Grissom and made the score 3-0. The Angels continued to pile on runs in the fifth inning. Grissom singled to left, allowing Neto to score and putting Trout on third. Adell then homered to center field, a 433-foot blast that scored both Trout and Grissom, extending the lead to 7-0.

Late Innings Expand the Margin

The Angels added more runs in the sixth inning. Grissom doubled to right field, bringing Lowe and Neto home to make the score 9-0. The eighth inning saw Trout homered to left center, a 438-foot shot that scored Lowe, pushing the score to 11-0. The Rangers managed to score one run in the eighth when Higashioka homered to left center, a 389-foot shot. In the ninth inning, Peraza hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Adell, and Siri singled to left, allowing Guzman to score, finalizing the 13-1 tally.

Pitching Performances and Final Notes

Walbert Urena started for the Angels, pitching four innings, allowing one hit and no earned runs while striking out three. Samy Natera Jr. earned the win with two scoreless innings, striking out five batters. Ryan Zeferjahn, Jose Fermin, and Mitch Farris each pitched one inning for Los Angeles. For the Rangers, MacKenzie Gore took the loss, pitching five innings and allowing seven earned runs on nine hits. Gavin Collyer, Ben Peoples, Robby Ahlstrom, and Kyle Higashioka also pitched for Texas. The game was played at Globe Life Field with an attendance of 23,288. The Angels improved to 37-56, while the Rangers fell to 46-46.
