Gallegos Park, the city park at 6698 Pecan Street, is in line for a full makeover this fall.

The City of Frisco registered a renovation project for the park with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Thursday, Oct. 8. The filing puts the estimated cost at $1,052,559 and lists five pieces of work: a new playground, a basketball court, exercise equipment, a shade pavilion and sidewalks.

Timeline

The state record gives a start date of Oct. 8 and a completion date of Nov. 30, a window of a little more than seven weeks if the schedule holds. The filing does not say whether the park will be closed while crews are on site, and it does not name a construction contractor.

The project area is listed at about 15,224 square feet. The record describes the job as a renovation paid for with public money on public land, with the city as owner. Stantec, an engineering and design firm, is named as the designer through its San Antonio office.

The state filing

The project is registered in the state's Texas Architectural Barriers program. According to the listing, a registered accessibility specialist handles plan review and inspection, and the owner must obtain that inspection no later than the first anniversary of the project's completion.

As of Saturday, the city had not posted an announcement about the work on its news feed, and the filing does not include drawings showing where the new court and pavilion will sit within the park.
