Country singer Miranda Lambert will perform at halftime of the Dallas Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day game, the team and the Salvation Army announced Sunday.
Lambert, a three-time Grammy winner whose albums have gone multi-platinum, will take the stage at Arlington's AT&T Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 26, when the Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles in a game carried on national TV. It will be the 30th straight year that the Cowboys' Thanksgiving halftime has served as the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Kickoff, the start of the charity's holiday fundraising season.
This year's campaign is the 136th for the Red Kettle drive, the bell-ringing collection that puts volunteers and red kettles outside stores through the holidays.
In a statement, Lambert said music has a way of pulling people together, "especially when it's to spread joy and hope to families who need it most." She said she was looking forward to being "back home in Texas this Thanksgiving" to help keep the tradition going.
