North Texas is hosting a diverse array of cultural, sporting, and entertainment events throughout the upcoming week, with activities concentrated in Frisco, Plano, and Dallas. The schedule includes professional baseball games, local art installations, themed hotel openings, and community festivals.
The Frisco RoughRiders are concluding their home season at Riders Field with a six-game series against the Amarillo Sod Poodles, running from September 1 through September 6. The Arizona Diamondbacks’ Double-A affiliate will host several themed nights during the homestand, including Wine Wednesday, Quesos & Cervezas, Dallas Mavs Night, and Dallas Stars Night.
In Plano, the Downtown Arts District will host the fifth annual Art Drop Day on September 3 and 4. Local artists have concealed original artworks throughout the district, allowing participants to follow clues and discover unique pieces. Later in the week, the Downtown Plano Disco Cowgirl Market returns to the same location on September 6, featuring local vendors, handmade goods, permanent jewelry, and apparel.
Frisco will also host a Hispanic Heritage Celebration at Kaleidoscope Park on September 5. The free festival includes live performances, a Parade of Nations, cultural programming, local vendors, food, games, and interactive activities. The evening concludes with a concert by Havana NRG. Additionally, the Frisco RoughRiders’ homestand overlaps with this celebration.
Other notable events include the opening of The BooMont Hotel at Galleria Dallas on September 4. Inspired by a fictional 1901 hotel, the immersive experience explores a dark history and will remain open through November 1. In Plano, the Water Lantern Festival takes place on September 5 and 6 at Haggard Park, where guests can personalize lanterns for a sunset launch with live music.
Musical performances are scheduled across the region. A tribute show titled Karen As Dolly will perform at the Lexus Box Garden at Legacy Hall in Plano on September 4. In Dallas, the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film will be screened at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center with a live orchestra performing the score.
